About
Ty Walker is a professional touring & recording session drummer
based in South Wales, UK.
With a wealth of experience working in the industry since the age of 14, Ty has toured across the UK with many different bands and artists,
showcasing competency in a wide range of styles and genres of music.
Alongside live performance Ty has also recorded in a vast array of studios from prestigious London studios, to small home studios and all points in between.
Comfortable with click, backing tracks & boasting an impressive top quality hybrid drum set up, Ty is able to play with any band or artist, in any situation.
Published Work
Aside from the years of experience Ty also has all the qualifications to back it up.
Graduating from the University of South Wales with a BA (Hons) in Popular Music in 2014, coupled with a Merit in Trinity Guildhall Grade 8 when he was 17, Ty is also an extremely comfortable drum score user.
Utilising these skills Ty has also performed as part of theatre shows within the orchestra for productions of Rent, Little Shop of Horrors, local pantomime and much more.
During the pandemic in 2020/21 Ty became the sole drum tutor at Mayzmusik Performing Arts Academy. Aiming to pass on some of the many lessons he has learnt along the path of his career thus far, and to inspire the next generation of drummers to pick up the sticks and fall in love with playing drums.

“I had such a blast jumping back into this song. I got to tour the UK rocking out with this banger of a tune and great band! Rock playing is all about the intent and energy you bring to the song.
That really translates whether you're on a stage or in the recording studio.”

“After recording the original drum part for this track in my studio during the pandemic, I wanted to revisit this with all the new skills and sounds I've acquired since then. With all the various playing styles this track has, from light brush work to big slamming toms towards the end, it's a real showcase for the whole dynamic range of my playing.”
Beyond his drumming work Ty is also an accomplished video editor and content creator.
As seen in the videos featured on this site, Ty regularly uses these skills in tandem with his musical abilities. Creating engaging and dynamic pieces of content, that act not only as a digital portfolio of sorts, but also document his progression and journey through his career.
When Ty is not busy touring, recording, teaching or creating this kind of content,
he can also be found sometimes live streaming various types of content from live drum performances, to video game “let’s plays” and more over on YouTube, Twitch and his other social media platforms.
