Hello!
I am Ty Walker.
A professional touring
& recording session drummer
based in South Wales, UK.
With a wealth of experience working in the industry since the age of 14,
I have toured across the UK with many different bands and artists,
showcasing competency in a wide range of styles and genres of music.
Alongside live performance, I’ve also recorded in a vast array of studios, from prestigious London studios to small DIY studios and all points in between.
Comfortable with click, backing tracks & boasting an impressive top-quality hybrid drum set-up, I can play with any band or artist in any situation.
Aside from the years of experience
I’ve also got the qualifications
to back it up.
Graduating from the University of South Wales with a BA (Hons) in Popular Music in 2014, coupled with a Merit in Trinity Guildhall Grade 8 when I was 17, I’m also an extremely comfortable drum score user.
Utilising these skills, I’ve performed in theatre shows within the orchestra for productions of Rent, Little Shop of Horrors, local pantomimes, and much more.
During the pandemic in 2020/21, I became the sole drum tutor at Mayzmusik Performing Arts Academy. Aiming to pass on some of the many lessons I’ve learnt along the path of my career thus far, and to inspire the next generation of drummers to pick up the sticks and fall in love with playing drums.
Beyond my drumming work I’m also an accomplished video editor and content creator.
I regularly use these skills in tandem with my musical abilities.
Creating engaging and dynamic pieces of content that act not only as a digital portfolio of sorts,
but also to document my progression and journey through my career.
When I’m not busy touring, recording, teaching or creating this kind of content,
I can also be found sometimes live-streaming various types of content
from live drum performances, to video game “let’s plays” and more
over on YouTube, Twitch and my other social media platforms.
